ttt (“Tell The Truth,” the “App”) is operated by TheBeats Inc. ("we," "us," "our"). ttt lets students answer anonymous, playful polls about their friends using short voice memos, and — from those votes — automatically creates short profile videos that friends and schoolmates at the same school can watch. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it may be seen by others, and the choices you have.
If you take part through our web survey, we collect only the information you explicitly choose to provide: your first name, gender, grade, poll answers, a selfie photo, and optionally your phone number. Your selfie is used solely to generate your profile image and associate you with your school group. We do not use selfies to create biometric templates, perform facial recognition, or track individuals across third-party services. Non-user data provided via the web survey is retained only as long as needed to connect you to your group and deliver your video; if you complete registration for a ttt account it is then managed under our standard account-retention rules. You may request immediate deletion of your web survey submission at any time by contacting support@thebeats.app. By submitting information through the web survey, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and that, if you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian has permitted you to submit it. We rely on this confirmation and do not independently verify parental consent.
Please read this section carefully. ttt is designed to be seen by people at your school:
You are responsible for the content you upload. See our Terms of Service for how content licenses and visibility work.
By voluntarily providing your phone number to us (whether via the App or our web survey), you expressly consent to receive transactional and informational text messages from TheBeats Inc. and our service providers (including Twilio) — such as verification codes, invitation notifications, and alerts when a new video is generated for your group. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using the App or of purchasing any goods or services. Message frequency varies and depends on your own activity in the App; we cap delivery at three messages per 72 hours. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by contacting support@thebeats.app; reply HELP for help. You represent that you are the primary subscriber or an authorized user of any phone number you submit.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as our SMS provider Twilio, Inc., is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We never sell your personal data, and we do not sell or share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.
We implement reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information:
While we employ commercially reasonable security measures, no system or transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
ttt is strictly intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly solicit, collect, or process personal information from children under 13. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms and this Privacy Policy. By default, profiles and generated videos are restricted to verified users associated with your designated school and are not searchable or viewable by the general public. If we learn that personal information of a child under 13 has been collected without verifiable parental consent, we will deactivate the account and permanently delete all associated data (including selfies, voice memos, and videos). If you believe a child under 13 is using the App, contact us at support@thebeats.app.
You can delete your account and all associated personal data directly in the App under Settings → Account → Delete Account. Upon deletion, your profile, selfies, generated videos, and account records are permanently purged from our active systems within 30 days.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the “Last updated” date above.
Residents of certain U.S. states (including California, Delaware, Virginia, Colorado, Utah, and Texas) have specific statutory privacy rights, including: (i) the right to know/access the categories and specific pieces of personal data collected; (ii) the right to delete personal information; (iii) the right to correct inaccurate personal data; and (iv) the right to opt out of targeted advertising or profiling. We do not sell your personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your rights, submit a request to support@thebeats.app with the subject line “State Privacy Rights Request.”
